How much can I get if I’m a veteran?
Did you know the US government will reimburse veteran families that qualify up to $893 for a burial or cremation?Since Cremstar's starting price for a direct cremation is $893, if your Cremstar cremation is also $893, that's like having your cremation cost covered.
The US government will also pay an additional $231 for an urn, and the state will provide free death certificates. And if you inter that urn in a columbarium, they'll reimburse you up to yet another $893 just for that!
How do I find out if I'm eligible?
To see who is eligible and to apply for reimbursement online, visit the VA website. How does it work?
If a veteran has died and you believe they qualify, you must first order and pay for the cremation online at Cremstar.com. (PA and NJ only, for now.).And don't forget to order an urn up to $231 in value. They'll cover that too.
Cremstar will provide you with all of the paperwork you need to obtain reimbursement from the VA. This includes:
- Receipt for payment
- Statement of Funeral Goods and Services Selected
The VA will review your application and, if the veteran was honorably discharged and in good standing, you'll be reimbursed up to $893 for the cremation. They will also reimburse you up to $231 for an urn.
During your lifetime, you served your country with dignity and respect. The least we can do is make sure you're treated the same way as you move on. We at Cremstar are proud to support this veterans program.
