Free Cremation through State Funeral Assistance Programs
If you are currently already receiving some sort of public assistance (e.g. SNAP or Medicaid benefits) you may qualify for a discount or a free cremation. Cremstar will work with all relevant state agencies to ensure you're armed with all the documentation you need to get reimbursed for up to 100% of the cost of cremation.
Free Cremation through FEMA COVID-19 Funeral Expense Reimbursement Program
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is providing financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020. If the death occurred in the U.S. and the death certificate lists the cause of death as COVID-19, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement of up to 100% of all funeral expenses, including cremation costs.
If you are in immediate need because a death has already occurred, order a direct cremation now.
